One tough question to answer is whether Manchester United starlet Angel Gomes would get more action next season. The 16-year old is highly rated and he has developed quickly this term. He had a taste of first-team football when he replaced Wayne Rooney in the final game of the season against Crystal Palace in the Premier League, and has been tipped to beome one of the greats at Manchester United by his old youth team coach.
Gomes scored 12 goals, getting six assists in 19 starts for the youth side this season, where he was also the skipper of the Under-18 side and is touted as one of England’s best players.
After the game against Palace, an excited Gomes said it was dream come true for him. Whilst it wasn’t exactly the Champions’ League Final, it was still an important match for United, and it gave him a fantastic chance to make a name for himself. he is clearly just at the start of what promises to be a great career for the Reds. “Being a young age, it’s things like this you wish for. All the hard work you put in at the training ground – this is the end result,” he added.
He could help coach Jose Mourinho in his rotation policy as he has technical capacities that go beyond his age. Just like Marcus Rashford, United could have another home grown star in the making. United are expected to lose Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic over the summer, with Anthony Martial possibly leaving on loan, leaving the door wide open for Gomes to get a chance – he just needs to make sure he takes it.
