Chelsea got their season running with a 3-2 win at Norwich City last weekend and that was also their maiden victory under the guidance of manager Frank Lampard. The west London outfit have experienced an uncharacteristic start to the season where there have been question marks on the defensive performances but Lampard’s side have nonetheless impressed on the opposite end, where they have shown plenty of attacking threat.
Still, they have not faced any top-six team during the opening three games and can expect a tough challenge on their hands during the weekend’s trip to Stamford Bridge. While the Blues have failed to keep a single clean sheet this season, they have found form in the attack front with both Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount contributing two goals apiece and the young duo should once more remain pivotal to the final outcome against the Blades.
The average form of defender Cesar Azpilicueta does provide Sheffield with some optimism ahead of the game, but we don’t anticipate them to have much of a say within the Blues box, considering they have managed an average of just three shots on target. Lampard should guide the Blues to the maiden home win of the season and that could come about with the first clean sheet of the campaign. Tammy Abraham can be backed to score for the second game on the bounce after bagging his first two goals for Chelsea last weekend.
