The FA cup resumes with a fourth-round action involving MK Dons and Chelsea.
This will be one of the most watched encounters in all of England due to intense rivalry between the two teams. There appeared to be a great chance for MK Dons to get something out of the game when Chelsea were in poor form a few months ago. However, this has all changed after the appointment of Guus Hiddink. The club now have the longest unbeaten record in the English top division. Chelsea continued this impressive revival in fortunes with a 1-0 win over Arsenal last weekend.
The fact that the blues were able to comfortably beat the team favourites for the title says a lot about their revival. This has been a major factor in the club getting through into the fifth round quite comfortably. Bookmakers are backing the West London outfit at around 11/2 to get a win in this away match, while MK Dons are pretty far behind despite being the home team. The Championship team has managed just two wins in the last five games. One of those victories came against lower league opposition in the FA Cup. MK Dons required a replay to overcome League Two Northampton Town. Hence, the team are backed at around 200/1 for a win.
“We don’t know what team Chelsea will put out, but with no midweek game I expect them to go as strong as they possibly can. Some of the world’s greatest players will be in our tunnel walking out to ‘Welcome to the Jungle!’We know they should blow us off the park with the quality they have, but we will all go into the game full of hope and optimism. We all know how difficult it is going to be, but we have always acquitted ourselves well against the bigger teams at stadium mk,” said MK Dons manager Karl Robinson.
