It takes a brave (or desperate!) manager to leave out two of his big guns in Europe, but thats exactly what Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas did when he left John Terry and Frank Lampard out against the Germans. United also took the opportunity in midweek to play some of their fringe players, with the likes of influential but old Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher taking centre stage.
Whilst United laboured to a 1-1 draw after going behind, there was only ever going to be one winner at Stamford Bridge, with David Luiz helping the Blues to record and emphatic victory.
United have been going through a purple patch so will expect to score goals, and could easily be frustrated if things don’t start going their own way. That said, with both Rooney and Hernandez given a break midweek, expect fireworks upfront!
SCORE BET
Its a close on to call (well, it is a Super Sunday!) but we think that United’s home advantage may just poke it in their favour. Whilst Fernando Torres would love to score at Old Trafford (or anywhere else for that matter) we think the United back-line is a bit too strong – if Drogba had managed to make it into the team it would have been a different story.
We’re betting on United to take it 2-0 (8/1 at Paddy Power).
BEST BET
Will Rooney score? Probably. Will Hernandez? You wouldn’t bet against it! Whilst we’d love to stick some money on another Rooney hatrick (a third in a row…?!) we’re going to be a bit more conservative and go for Rooney to score at anytime – available at around 2/1.
Place this bet with BetClic and you can’t lose – because it’s your first bet, even if Rooney doesn’t score you will get your money back. This isn’t like a normal free-bet where they make you spend it on the site, you can actually just take your money back! If you stuck £30 on (the maximum Bet Clic will refund you), you would walk away with almost £90! All completely risk-free! Click here to take advantage of this deal!
