The preliminary stages are finally over, an we’re hitting the business end of the tournament – this is when the likes of rafael Nadal and Andy Murray make their money!
The Quarter Finals will be some of the most intriguing ties this year, with Djokovic facing Tipsaravec, and the possibility of Federer meeting his Wimbledon nemesis Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Andy Murray still has some work to do to get there – the last (and only) time he was matched up against the American Young he lost in three sets. Obviously a lot has changed since Murray went through his dismal displays way back in March, but this tie is by no means a foregone conclusion.
So who are we backing? In spite of his bizarre collapse in his post-match press conference, it’s hard to look too much past Rafa Nadal. Whilst the young Spaniard has only ever made the final once (last year, when he won it), he has been imperious form this year, and is obviously a crowd favourite because of the speed and aggreesiveness he takes to the court.
If there is one man who cna beat him, its Novak Djokovic. Indeed, the Croatian has already beaten him in a Grand Slam final this year, which might allow him to get a psychological edge over Nadal. Truth be told, grass courts suit Novak’s game more than Nadal’s, so whilst it was a shock at the time, it really shouldn’t have been!
Our bet? A Nadal – Djokovic final – available at 3/1 with Bet365.
